Scoutr
Scoutr is a recruiting measurement tracker built by Football Studio for coaching staffs to use on combine and visit days. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.
When you sign in, we collect your name, email address, and school affiliation. As you use the app, you enter recruiting data such as player names, positions, graduation years, and current schools, along with the measurements you record — height, weight, hand, arm, wingspan, and shoe size.
Player and recruit records are entered by coaches, not by the recruits themselves, and are used solely to help coaching staffs organize and track the measurements they collect. Many recruits tracked in Scoutr are high school student-athletes who may be minors; we treat this data with the same care as any other personal information in the app, and it is never used for advertising or sold to third parties.
Scoutr can use your device's camera to read a recruit's printed credential and autofill their name, school, graduation year, and position. During credential scanning, text recognition runs entirely on your device — the camera image is processed locally and is never uploaded or stored; only the text you confirm is saved to the player's record. Taking a recruit's photo is a separate feature, described below. You can decline camera access and enter this information by hand instead, and you can change the permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Scoutr also lets you take a photo of a recruit — typically right after scanning their credential — to help your staff put a face to the measurements they record. Unlike credential scanning, these photos are uploaded to and stored on our cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services) so coaches signed in under your school can view and download them within the app. Each photo is scoped to your school and the day it was taken and is used solely to identify and organize the recruits you measure; it is never used for advertising and is never sold. Because many recruits are high school student-athletes who may be minors, we treat these photos as sensitive personal information. Taking a photo is optional — you can skip it and still record measurements — and you can request removal of a stored photo by contacting us.
Scoutr lets you export the day's measurements as a CSV spreadsheet. When you tap Export, the file is generated on your device and handed to the standard iOS share sheet, where you choose what happens to it — saving it to Files, emailing it, or sending it to another app. Once you share the file out of Scoutr, it is governed by whatever service or app you send it to, not by this policy.
We collect basic technical information needed to operate the app and diagnose problems — such as device type, OS version, and app crash or error logs. We do not use this information for advertising or behavioral tracking.
We use the information above to provide Scoutr's core features: signing you in, syncing your roster and measurements across devices, matching a scanned recruit to your school's visitors for the day, and troubleshooting issues you report. We do not use your data to serve ads, and we do not sell it.
The players and measurements you record are scoped to your school and visible to the coaches signed in under that school; we do not share your school's data with other schools. We use third-party infrastructure providers solely to store and process data on our behalf, under obligations to protect it and never for their own independent purposes — specifically, Amazon Web Services for cloud hosting. Any spreadsheet you export and share out of the app is sent only to the destination you choose.
We retain your account, player, and measurement data for as long as your account is active. Deleting a player in the app removes it from your roster; the underlying record may be retained for a limited period to support recovery and data integrity, then permanently purged. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile > Delete Account, or by contacting us.
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encrypted network transport and access-controlled cloud infrastructure — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage you to use a strong device passcode and keep your login credentials confidential.
You can review, edit, or delete the players and measurements you've entered at any time from within the app. You can allow or deny camera access from the iOS Settings app. You can permanently delete your account from Profile > Delete Account, and you may also request a copy of your data by contacting us below.
Scoutr is intended for use by coaching staff members who are adults; it is not directed at children, and accounts are not created by or for children. Recruit records that coaches enter about student-athletes are handled as described above under "Information About Recruits."
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
